If you’re ever feeling like someone is talking too much on Instagram, there are a few ways to mute them. Here are three tips:

  1. Open the app and sign in. This will take you to their profile page. Scroll down and tap on the three lines in the top right corner of their photo, called “Mute.” This will turn off their account and stop them from talking for a certain amount of time (usually 10 minutes).
  2. Type “mute” into the chat box on their profile page and hit “send.” This will mute them for good.
  3. If they’re using a phone that has an AI assistant, like Google Home or Amazon Echo, they can also ask it to mute them.
